A Side Event to the 40th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners (ICDPPC) at Brussels

The event will be held in English

Elections, referenda and other democratic decisions have been subject to electronic attacks. Deep fake news, dark ads, personal profiling and targeting, surveillance and manipulation of electronic devices have been used with the aim to influence democratic decision making. We want to reflect on the consequences of these attempts and how this development can be averted
